PRL Facilities
The PRL has exceptional research facilities. We maintain a centralized equipment facility that includes a quantitative densitometer, a phosphorimager, a biolistic particle gun, an electroporator, a gas and high-performance liquid chromatography stations and specialized facilities and imaging equipment in the Plant Biology Building or adjacent buildings, including:
  • Research Technology Support Facility, with automated DNA sequencing services, microarray services, and supporting robotic equipment.

  • Macromolecular Analysis Facility, with an automated protein sequenator, a peptide synthesizer, and an oligonucleotide synthesizer.

  • MSU Center for Electron Optics, equipped with both transmission and scanning electron microscopes, a mass spectrometry facility and NMR, ESR, and X-ray diffraction equipment.

In the Plant Biology Building is housed approximately 3500 square feet of controlled Growth Chamber space in approximately 140 separate units. An additional 4,000 square feet is under glass.
